2021 Registration Info

Group Sizes for 2021

In compliance with the State of Maryland's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, group sizes may not exceed 15. RCSP 2021 will have 12 campers per group, with two counselors and one volunteer to lead them.

Some camps are split into A and B groups (example: Jewelry Making A, Jewelry Making B). These camps have been planned to do the same activities but will operate out of different rooms for Covid-19 safety. When registering a child to be with a friend, please make sure to select the same agreed upon group.

Overall Camp Size

For the summer of 2021, RCSP will be able to host a maximum of 180 campers per week. This number may not increase unless State guidelines loosen.

Priority Registration

Like everything in 2020, camp registration was an absolute mess. Our issue is apparent; we have a supply and demand issue. We had over 500 attempted registrations in 12 minutes in 2020 and RCSP simply cannot accommodate the amount of families that want to attend. Last year we saw that our registration system was not working, it was stressful to all trying to register, and even discriminated against families with multiple children. At this time due to Covid, we can offer fewer spots to just as many families.

 

To address this, we will be creating registration groups with scheduled registration days. After looking at other camps in the area, we will be offering priority registration based on how many years a family has participated in our program. 4 year families will receive priority first, followed by 3 year, 2 year and so on. Our 4 year families have many campers who aged out last summer, therefore, they will take the least amount of spots.

 

To increase newer families chances of registering, we will randomly pull 10 families who have participated for one year, 10 names from families who have participated for 2 years and 10 names from families who have participated for 3 and give them priority registration. Following the first round of priority registration, we will open a second round for all families who participated for 3 years, and pull 10 names from year 2 families and 10 names from year 1 families, etc. 

 

You will receive an email notifying you if you qualify for priority registration or were selected randomly for it. Those families who qualify for priority registration will receive the link in an email on the morning of registration. Please do not distribute that link to other families who did not qualify. Their registrations will be deleted.

***IMPORTANT ***

We are using families/emails from the 2019 and 2020 season to form these groups. If you/a friend of yours is from an earlier season and would like to be entered in a chance for priority registration, please have them contact us via email.

New Families

We will also be offering opportunities for brand new families to receive priority registration. Please fill out this form by January 31st. We will pull 10 families at random off of this group of brand new families to provide them priority registration.

Changing Camps?

For the summer of 2021, campers will not be permitted to change camps once they have started in one. If you would like to change before the camp begins, please email the camp email at rockvillecatholicsummer@gmail.com and we will work to accommodate your request.
