Volunteer apps open on April 1, 2024

Students entering grades 8-12 in the fall

are eligible to volunteer for the Rockville

Catholic Summer Program. Volunteers

must be willing and able to commit to the

hours of 7:45am-3:00pm for the full week

during which they would like to volunteer.

Volunteers need to demonstrate the same

qualities as counselors, most notably a desire

to serve children, be open and flexible to jobs

and assignments and show initiative in

accomplishing tasks.

Volunteers follow the same schedule as counselors:

7:45-8:15am - Daily Mass

8:30-9:00am - Camper arrival, Morning Show in gym

9:00-12:00pm - Camps

12:15-3:00pm - Group lunch, theology and Eucharistic Adoration.

Since developing a relationship with Jesus Christ is the number one goal of the camp, volunteers attend daily mass each morning along with the other staff members. Each afternoon, volunteers and counselors listen to a talk or engage in a discussion about the Catholic faith led by a different presenter each day. This is followed by 45 minutes of individual prayer in the church.

Volunteering will be done on a week-by-week basis.  At the end of every week, volunteers will be evaluated by their mentor counselors and program director.  Volunteers with positive evaluations will be invited back for subsequent opportunities.  Volunteers must schedule their volunteer weeks in advance by emailing Mike McHugh at rockvillecatholicsummer@gmail.com
